Hi,

anyone know the details of how to remove this?
It looks like its a one piece unit with the heater.

If you mean the box unit in front of the rear offside wheel then it is a combined heating and aircon unit.

The coolant side can be bypassed. the aircon involves purging the aircon entirely, as it is a single circuit round the whole vehicle.

Hi Lewis,

yes it's the rear unit I want to swap with the one off my "donor" Deli.
It was isolated from the rest of the air con system a few years back when an air con guy found a leak so is empty.
The remaining air con system is now empty as well so I thought it a good time to swap in the "spare".

I can see its easy to blank off the coolant pipes but can only see a couple of mounting points for the whole unit.
This seems too few. Do you know how the unit is mounted and how heavy it might be?

Thanks.

There is more space inside than bits, so weight-wise it's not much.

I've not removed one, just had mine open to repair a damaged plastic toothed cogs for moving flaps around.

Ah Confused

I couldn't see a way of getting inside without removing the whole unit.
Please tell because I might be able to replace the air con section in situ.

1. Lay on back.
2. Stick your head underneath.
3. Look up.
4. Note three separate section.
5. Remove visible bolts and cover for the bit you need.

I only went as far as getting this view, which is in the left section of the unit, but there is an upwards facing bolt into the chassis and two mounting bolts on the outer side for the unit.

The centre section with the small spout underneath is the evaporator unit and you would need to undo the A/C pipe from that, if still attached, so prepare for any leakage.

The bit further in is the blower unit and you will have to undo the electrical connections for access.

There is also a small single cable electrical cable coming down from the top, but as Yet I don't know what that is for.

Your images aren't showing but I think I've seen the bits you refer to.
I'll have a detailed look again tomorrow.

A few days after my post I was rushed to hospital with a heart problem Crying or Very sad
Within 24 hours I'm in the operating theatre being fitted with a pacemaker Shocked

The power steering rack popped a leak Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad

I see there's a company on ebay that'll collect, refurbish, and return the rack for £220.

One good bit of news this morning.
I'm finally getting a 24'x14' timber garage, with 8' headroom, delivered and erected on Friday Razz
Covid restrictions has meant it’s taken eight months from when I ordered Crying or Very sad
At least I won't have to keep putting things away or get delayed because of rain Smile

I also haven't a service manual for the pacemaker but it does have a bluetooth interface so am looking for a way of reading it from my mobile phone Confused
