Hi all. I have had a Mitsubishi Delica Space Gear 2.8 TD for the past six years and have enjoyed touring with it around the UK. Had a few issues sticky doors, rust and general wear and tear but recently the windscreen wipers started to become slower and finally stopped. Anyone know where I can get a replacement wiper motor from or get old one refurbished.

Windscreen Wiper Motors. The grease does dry out.

The rear one on my car did that last year - So, removed the motor, took off the cover plate.
Be careful not to damage the Park switch - Light weight fingers that press onto the metal tracks.

Re-work the grease around the worm gear and the larger gear. Now add a small amount of engine oil.
Replace the cover.

At this stage do not assemble to the car. Connect the WWM to the connector plug, and place the motor safely.
Switch the wipers on, the motor should rotate, maybe slowly at first, leave it running,
when it picks up speed, then switch to fast speed, leave running for a few minutes.

After doing that, it should be all good Smile

NOTE: Carbon Brush damage/wear is rare with the modern WWM.

Hopefully, the fuse has just blown under the strain. Replace fuse, lubricate wiper spindles generously with WD40, and assist the wipers to move while switched on until you've loosened them off. (Assuming your wiper motor lives!)

mine were revitalised with a good clean and lube.
make sure all fingers ect are clear if you are going to power up the unit as there's plenty of pinch points on most wiper mechanisms.

if you need brushes a larger set can be cut/filed to the correct size and chuck the dust into your locks !
