Hi all I'm looking for some info please. The Deli has failed it's test and it looks like it's down to corrosion on the inner wheel arches (I'll update this when I get the full report)
Can you buy and replace them and if so where is the best place to get them from please and how big a job is it? _________________ Sarcasm is the last refuge of the imaginatively bankrupt. |

Lewis is the man for parts lisitings.
However - You may not like the price of Mitsu parts
As yet you don't know exactly what is specified being corroded.
If just wheel arches, usually patch them with pieces of 18/20 gauge sheet steel.
If its chassis section, then use 16 gauge steel.

Wheelarches I suspect, would be advisories only, as not strictly structural. I suspect, as usual, it will be the section of "chassis" (box section) that runs past the wheelarch. Many have fabricated repair pieces for these, but is still often a ball-ache due to suspension mountings and other bits getting in the way. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Mine had the same issue last year, rust hole in the wheel arch. The garage just welded a small patch over it.
I'm not sure if there is a complete arch replacement, it would be overkill if it's just a small hole.

Thanks for the ideas and comments, yes they are small holes on the inner wheel arches, not quite how the garage described them to me over the phone...lol
Vehicle fabrication already sorted, it's going in on Monday for welding. _________________ Sarcasm is the last refuge of the imaginatively bankrupt. |

As Andy mentions the inner wheel arches are Chassis box sections.
