still having problems with my auto gearbox. Very smooth changes if A/T switch is in hold but will not go into overdrive at 45. Now does not want to find overdrive at all. In normal mode gears are too eractic to drive and will hold lower gears till screaming. I need a recomendation for a garage in cornwall that maybe has worked on someones Deli before. I stopped at a so called gearbox specialist in st.austell but I might as well gone to a dress makers. Any suggestions please. _________________ The beach is the place to be! |

Hi Chalboy,
love the dressmakers ref., very good ......
I wonder if it's worth taking it into Summercourt Mitsi dealers. They will have the knowledge and certainly access to it if they haven't got it directly. I haven't used 'em to fix anything yet ( 'cos I've been so lucky and they are generally a great vehicle!), but I have used 'em for parts and they seem like a genuinely good dealership, interested in the Deli.....might be worth a chat with 'em on the phone. If nothing else they might be able to recommend a good local gearbox specialist never know if ya don't try - cheeky I know, but what the heck ?
good luck,
Dave. _________________ Deli finally sold - don't ask :-(.......Me signing off, thanks for being such a brilliant forum, keep 'em going - May be back if I can start earning decent dollar again - take care y'all ;-) |

Well I think at last I have solved the problem fingers crossed. I Had checked the TPS, taken it off put on wd but it made no difference. Yesterday after posting this I went back out. All I did was follow the cable coming off the TPS to where it clips together. I pulled it appart and squirted wd all over it. Today it is driving like a dream with A/T switch in normal mode. Very smooth gear changes and straight into overdrive at 45mph. Can't believe it. Today has been the first dry day for ages so it maybe to do with the damp? Anyway well pleased. I have read lots of posts of people experiencing the same thing. I would suggest giving this a go first. :D :D :D _________________ The beach is the place to be! |

Tagging onto this garrage in Cornwall. I allways get a mate to work on mine, however there are a couple of things he doesn't want to tackle. The glow plugs in mine are rusted in and he doesn't want to mess with them as if they snap I will have to tow it to a garrage that can really get to work. Anyone had the Glow plugs sorted in Cornwall. I'm in St Awfull by the way. |

Just wanted to add on to the above - when on holiday near Newquay we had a flickering diff lock light on our Deli and went to the Mitsubishi main dealers in Summercourt (Dales). They had a look at it for us and confirmed the gearbox and diff lock were working properly and that it had probably been a glitch caused by hubby accidently knocking the gear lever part way towards diff lock (noticed within a few hundred hards) or by heavy rain the day before (of course the light behaved on the day they looked at it and since ) Very helpful and didn't even charge for looking at it. :D _________________ Mick and Kathryn - Black over silver L400 |
