About to shell out for some new boots now I have got wheels sorted.

31" tyres going on...

Now then...

what to fit ?
Been offered BFG M/T at £88 a tyre but am worried that since the Delica will spend most of its life on tarmac they will be noisey but have never had BFG M/T only Colways and they are loud.
Also tempted by some Falken A/T tyres look like same tread pattern as my spare which looks like the original mitsi offering.

any and all suggestions welcome...

want a square ish tread as they look best and I am ready to chop and bend the body as required Twisted Evil

Had 235/15 BFG MTs on my L300 as a spare off-road set of wheels
Did my head in on tarmac journeys of any distance

So used to stick with 215/15 Colway ATs on the road

SOLD both the above sets to get my 31's
Which are Colway ATs again [same pattern as BFG ATs]
Just over £40 a corner from Formula 4x4 in Stone, Staff [just north of Stoke]

These work perfectly well off-road and are not TOO noisey on the motorway

Hi Mark,

Until sticking the Mickey T's on recently, I'd only ever run BFG A/T's on mine (in 31" & 33" guise) and have only got praise for them.

The road noise is minimal and if you are going fast enough for them to make any significant noise,they are drowned out by wind noise anyway!

I think Particle is running Falken A/T's, so might be worth giving him a PM to see what he thinks? Wink

I can only echo Bruce's opinion, been using BFG A/Ts for the last year or so. No too noisey on road but capable enough for moderate off road use, e.g. sand, shallow mud, etc. Seem to be wearing very well too.

Where did you get offered the M/T's for £88? I am looking for some A/T's and at the mo they are in the £130-150 region.

its well worth getting a quote from Formula 4x4 in Staffs, charged me nothing like the prices above for BFG AT Tyres recently.
Good Tyres, good grip in the muddy fields and so quiet on the motorway.

The M/T price was a special for the M/T only... he had 4 in and had them for a while....

I just bought a set of four Falken landair A/T's last week they seem a lot more stable than my old yokohama geolandar H/T's and a lot more grip too. and a good price at £266 fully fitted from Micheldever tyres.

Mine didn't have the white lettering for some reason Crying or Very sad

thats the tyres I'm thinking of...

I do like the BFG but am worried some little scroat will rob them to stick on their landy !!! Know a few landy owners that has happened to.

Those Falkens look decent enough for green lanes and a little off road play and also look like what I have as a spare from mitsi.

quoted £80 + VAT fitted each.... from west coast 4x4 and he has them in stock.

I use the Falken tyres in 265/70x15 size and they seem fine so far. But I haven't taken them seriously off road... Yet!
For the record the cost was £258 (4) from Protyre in Poole

was offered "general tyre" as a budget brand by the company re-furbing the alloys, could not place what they looked like...

I'm sure they were the AT2's... will check tomorrow...

I've got Colway M/t's on my Deli, far too noisy now i'm not off roading it any more Rolling Eyes

I have Grabber A/T's on my Paj and was very impressed with them at the weekend on sandy gravel type soil (they might clog up in mud mind you), only time they let me down was when i tried to tow a stuck Disco out of a boggy bit Laughing

No disgrace on the Disco for getting stuck, when he tried winching out using a nearby tree as an anchor, the tree started moving Shocked

had to attach my Paj between the tree and the winch for extra weight Shocked

No Deli anymore, Mk2 Pajero instead, 2" suspension and body lift, 35's, twin winches etc

think I'm going to go for the 31" for road use on the re-furbed alloys and get some thing on steel rims with muds for off road,

probably go for a 30" tyre for offroad....

narrower which from experience is better here in UK than wide ones.
