so does it work well for all varnish and laquers then,on any surface, not just wood?

According to the can it contains Dichloromethane and Methanol. which is designed to dissolve any Varnish, Laquer, or French Polish.  It certainly worked on some spare alloys I have. I have also used it to strip some Polyurethane varnish from both wood and metal plaques.

There is more info on it here:- http://www.makingdiyeasier.co.uk/nitromors/pvremovers.html

I used to be a metal polisher, so have some experience with getting metal shiny!!

To get a decent finish in a reasonable time (it should not take more than a few minuets to polish a wheel to a mirror finish) the mop surface needs to be doing at least 2000m a minuet at the outside, 3 or 4000m/min is better. That eBay kit might work on a die grinder doing 50,000+rpm (it will probably fall to bits at that speed LOL) but will take ages and not do much of a job in an electric drill!

If you want to polish your wheels use proper polishing points in a die grinder or a decent sized mop on a polishing machine, clean off the polish and re lacquer. Other wise do as Bruce suggests.

If you really do want very shiny wheels that keep there shine. Clean and polish them, then send the off for chrome plating . . .

A die grinder is a small tool, usually air powered, that spins at a high speed, A good one will do 45,000 rpm, a cheep one is HERE just so you have an idea, a dremmel tool is similar but a lot slower and less powerful.

cheer's wemfish.
got a air compressor and there is a machinemart not to far from me .
least i know what to look for now,i suppose a windygun would be no good. Embarassed
mine you, its a bit heavy  to use for any intricate work, but great for undoing tight bolt's. i tried using a dremmel as a delicate anglegrinder in a tight place and just burnt it out Rolling Eyes
cheer's for the info Smile
