hi all
well my brither in law has just bought a Delica after seeing mine, at least he has taste, but he has a problem fitting child seats?
My kids are 7 and 10 and are on boosters so its no problem , his are only 2 and 4
the problem is he says that he Can't get the child seat to sit firmly the seat cushion is too soft to hold the child seat firmly and the seat belt will not stay tight .
Can anyone recommend a good car seat that fits snuggly so he can enjoy his Delica as he should
thanks
karl

well, i have a britax booster with a back with the headrests on, and to be honest we're not happy with the fit. we find that tipping the seat back a little does help, but we're hunting for a new seat for our 2 year old ourselves. have just seen one at asda that i will be getting in the next few weeks, i'll let you know if it is any better!
in the meantime, try halfords.. get a sales assistant to bring a couple out and try them!
i find that my 7 and 9 year olds do not need boosters in the Deli as they can get their feet on the floor and the belts fit correctly without them. they do have them in a 'normal' car tho. |

Hi Y'all
I see a thing in halfords tother day that is a seatbelt clamp,if when fitting a car seat the belt is sloppy or whatever this little device clamps both parts of the webbing together to hold everything tight, they don't cause any damage and are about £13.00 i think, when we put our youngests seat in the seatbelts were a bit sloppy so we put her seat on the middle seat of the bench seat at the front (8) seater and the lap belt holds it mega mega tight, nip into halfords and take a peep they may even let you try beofre you buy if you ask one to come out to try it,hth

We did use a Britax booster for the 2 year old - the sort with the adjusting up and down headrest with the clip that holds the shoulder part of the seat belt in the right position. This fits really well in every car we've used it in including the Delica. Now though our 2 and 4 year olds just uses one of those small booster seats with no problem at all. As Astra says - send him along to Halfords and they'll find what fits. To be honest at age two and above they only need something to put them in the right position to use the existing 3 point seat belts.
Just remebered, when little one was onlt one we were using a Cosato Le Mans seat with full harness which also fitted in the Delica really well. This has a locing device that secures the seat belt in place when pulled tight. With this sort is best if someone pushes down on the child seat while it is being secured in the car and the seat belt locked in place to the seat. Then when the seat is released it is held in nice and secure.
According to the police something like 80% of people don't actually know how the seat should be secured in the car and are going around with wobbly seats that could be nice and secure if put in correctly. _________________ Pete

I'm pretty sure that Halford have a qualified child seat fitter in every store, I've always found them helpful, last time I got a child seat (not for the Delica) they must have had about a dozen out in the car park to try. |
