Hiya all, been away for a while but, good to be back on here. Here's one for you, has anyone ever considered tuning their Deli's to make them go faster? You know what I mean, stage 2 (or even 3) conversions, skimmed heads, gas flowing etc, that sort of thing? Volkswagen Transporter owners do it all the time. They even drag race them and, have a T17 club for T4's and T5's having shoot out's at Santa Pod. All good fun I'm sure.

The reason I ask is because the other day whilst driving back down the M23 home to Brighton, a Matt Black Deli on very large wheels went absolutely hammering past me as if I was standing still!!  I was in my V6 petrol Deli' and cruising at around 75 mph and, this thing just rocketed past me and vanished into the distance, gone, vanished! It looked totally fcuking awesome and, I can only imagine the owner/driver having the most insane grin on his face as he was storming along. Mental!!

So, can anyone hazard a guess what this person has done to his Deli'? I'll bet it was expensive whatever he has done to it!! I just didn't think that Deli's could be "souped up" like T4's and T5's?  What do you say guys??

Pete'. Cool

the first car I owned was while backpacking in Oz and it was a Magna. I was advised, in all seriousness, by Aussies, that I would struggle on the long drives between major cities as it was 'only' a three Litre engine!
I went Sydney to Adelaide, up to Darwin and back down to Melbourne and then across to Perth as well as to Tasmania. Needless to say, it managed all of that without any difficulty!
But of course, it was no Holden.

Hi, thanks for the replies guys. What size is this "Magna" engine then? Is it a Mitsubishi engine? I must say that the guy who went past me on the M23 made it seem as if I was standing still! If not a Magna engine, I am still interested to know if the Mitsubishi 3Litre V6 petrol engine can be stage two tuned? I am guessing here that Magna engines don't exactly "grow on trees" in the UK? I'm not losing sleep over this but, having owned a lot of "breathed on" cars over the years I am naturally interested in what can and cannot be done to the venerable 3L V6 lump?

Wowee!! That took some reading!! Thank you Lewis, very informative. God knows where you would find a Magna engine over here? Wouldn't it be possible just to pull the V6 Deli' lump apart and fettle with it, balanced crank, lightweight pistons, skimmed heads, porting and polishing a' la Ralliart style? Just curious.... Rolling Eyes .

Expensive for the result you would probably get.
Delicas are fast enough as they are.
