A guy at work has a mate who has a powder coating shop and has offered to do my wheels for mates rates so I’m getting them done next week. Don’t know much about PC but as my wheels look quite tatty now I thought I may as well get them done. My Deli is white and I can’t decide whether to have them done black or silver. I know it’s personal choice but what would you go for?

IMHO, white is one of the few colours that looks okay with black wheels. I generally dislike black wheels as they remind me of the really cheap plastic toy cars sold by Woolworths back in the day. So I'd go for a mid slate-grey metallic, if that's possible.

I thought black to go with the windows😄. Metallic could be a good shout - I’ll see if they can do that.

I did mine black, even though they are still bare aluminium in my Sigpics.  Very Happy

Black wheels - I drove, and worked on Black Taxis for over 40 years, they have black wheels = Yuk.

Black wheels suit some cars, (don't shout at me) Suits the later Range Rovers with big wheels.
On a coloured Delica, my opinion no, but that's me.

White car, Gold wheels = A hint of Royalty  Rolling Eyes   Tho, I really do like Andy's suggestion  Smile
Good neutral colour. With new chrome hub caps (If the old hub caps are a bit tired) would look superb.

The standard Delica Silver wheels, on White body, to me - A bit bland.

Try playing safe - You have a lady partner, ask what they would like  Cool

Definitely a matter of preference... Really interesting to hear the different tastes/likes/dislikes here.

I agree it depends on the vehicle colour; since re-painting Selma in a dark blue-grey I've been tempted getting the wheels powdercoated black. Although I do like the silver/metallic OEM wheels, with Selma's new colours (the thin side trims and bull bar remain black) I personally think black wheels would look nice.

Jeroen, you are probably too young to remember Woolworth's cheap plastic toy cars. The experience has scarred me for life! Sad

Yeaaa can't say I do but it definitely does sound like a serious bit of trauma there, Andy...  Shocked

Anyway, not sure if folk on here frequent the US Delica forum at all, but there’s a really good thread on there with wheel/tyre specs and photos on a range of vans:
L300 Delica Star Wagon -Wheel Width/Offset Specs Thread

Really nice to be able to contrast/compare. Sorry OT, but wheel colour aside, I'm a bit obsessed with the look of different size/offset combinations.
This one really caught my eye in particular.
Super interesting to see that's the stock rims (same as mine) but those tyres look blob6 on that!

If that's the CCMiickelson L300, it is greatly helped by being the best colourway! Wink

So got my wheels back today and on the car and they look mega. Went for gloss black in the end without the metallic. Not got a clue how to post a picture on here though

I have been debating whether to have mine stripped and powder coated professionally, now I've received my pension lump sum. I've bought a wire brush for my angle grinder, and a couple of rattle cans. And some masking tape. WHO SAID CHEAPSKATE?!!

That's what I did, as it's easier to repaint than powdercoat if you scrape the paint when offroading!  Laughing

Good point Lewis. I will remember that when I am admiring all those beautiful, recently powder-coated wheels at AO!
