Good evening all,

The brightness on the Climate control LCD screen seems to be getting worse.  Is there anyway of replacing the lamps/leds etc?

Many thanks all from a warm summers evening in Stanley.  JM-B

Hi,
A few years ago i purchased some sub-miniature LED's to replace the existing bulbs which made a big improvement, they were very fiddly to fit but worth it.  What I also found which should be your first port of call is that the plastic lenses are probably filthy; dismantle the unit as both sides of the tinted lens will be dirty and behind it the clear lens over the display will also be dirty. Cleaning them may be all you need to do.
Andy

From memory, when you remove the centre consul and access the display screen, there is a switch on the back of the display unit to change the brightness [ on my L400 S2 display ] although even on the bright setting mine is still a little dim during the day. It also auto dims when the main lights are switched on.

Regards

Rich

Very Many thanks to you both.

Andy W - I'll try the switch first, on the grounds that I may cause damage if I open the unit!

CSMonkey - If the above doesn't work I'll try the cleaning followed by new LEDs  - do you have a type number please?

Again, Many thanks,

JM-B

No problems with opening the unit. it is a one piece cover, over the whole unit.

Give the inside of the cover and the face of the screen a wipe, with a dry soft cloth, whilst it is open.
