Evening fellas , having a bit of trouble wiring up my new stereo - more to the point the speakers . I've discovered the front door speakers and little dash board speakers are wires together but cannot determine which of the remaining wires are for the rear speakers . I've tried using a 1.5 volt battery across every combination but cannot get a response (that procedure worked in determining fronts) . Do the rears run through an amp perhaps ? Or are just both speakers open circuit - don't want to uneccesarily remove panels to check continuity if can be helped . It is a '95 L400 swb super exceed . Hope someone has come across this before ! Tah chaps . |

You'll get a much better result if you run new speaker cables. _________________

Fitting new speakers and alpine Bluetooth stereo I have kicking around was going to be my first job.
Whats the deal with the speaker cables?? Why is it recommended to change them.

Originals are thin gauge, not great for modern powerful audio systems _________________ It doesn't matter where you put it, cos someone gonna come along and move it, and it's always been the same, it's just a complicated game..... |

And they're nearly 20 years old
The wiring is a bit weird too, there is a chance you'll damage your new speakers if you don't know what you're doing. _________________

At most it will add a couple of hours to the job and I guarantee you'll be much happier with the result _________________

Probably take the same amount of time, as the cables are a nightmare to sort out and work out what is going where etc... Plus no doubt when you remove the old radio there will be all kinds of widgets that you have to work out what they are and what can be removed... I still have a couple I'm unsure of and even google is struggling... _________________ Swb L400 blue and grey, 235/75 r15 at's, remote central locking, tow bar |

Hmm yeah having seen what is crammed into the back of an old JVC head unit I am convinced that taking my time and re doing the spekaer wiring is the way to go. Thanks for the heads up so to speak |
