For my sins  have aquired a caravan....after all the years cursing "caravan users" seems might be an idea. Have been towing a trailer tent but "er indoors" has decided we need a little more comfort in our "old age". Question   Overdrive in or out when towing ?and 2WD or 4WD.?  L400 Delica.
All suggestions welcome.

I would say od on but off for going up and down hills to give a bit of oomph or braking and four wheel drive all the time but thats me there will be totally different opinions.

I don't touch the o/d - i tried it once when towing, the button popped out, never to be seen again - i spent the rest of the holiday gaffer taping ripped up napkins into where the button used to live.   Smile  Smile

It was a lovely holiday, dead hot..................which obviously meant the gaffer tape heated up and kept slipping of the stick.  Laughing

Towing - I always insist on 4WD...............and thats coz in 2WD my diff light flashes...........hmmm really need to look at that.  :?

I love my Deli, but sometimes i get the feeling she don't like me much. Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad

Or just leave the wife at home. Then at least you can have fun as well. Laughing

I always tow with the overdrive switched on and use 2WD when its dry but 4WD in the wet.

I also find its better to use the A/T switch to select PWR when faced with a steep or long hill

Hope this helps

Even with my big twin axe i normally leave o/d on and only take it off on hills and the like, 2WD normally and 4WD in the mud. Twisted Evil
