85% of the kerbweight is the recommended, though you can tow up to 100%. don't get caught out with max towing weight and towing capacity, they're different and towing capacity is much higher. To find an accurate kerbweight you need to have it weighed with 70% full fuel tank. But as a guide the average L400 is 2250kg so you'd be okay to 1900kg approx |

This is what I find confusing :? :?
My old Range Rover was rated at 3500kg... So was that towing capacity ??? and not the max towing weight..
I often used to tow 3000kg, was I breaking the law?? I've been past plenty of police patrols and never been stopped, have I just been lucky? |

Hi,
Landy's are rated at 3500KG towing due to them having a low box, and the law requires them to be able to set off from stationary on a (I think) 1 in 4 hill.
I know the Deli has a low range, but maybe this hasn't been type approved for UK towing regulations??
Its still down to common sense though, as well as the laws of physics!!
I stand to be corrected...
Cheers,
Dave. |
