as for your meet in the east, go for it, but i think 1 BIG event a year, like MITM is enough. but an easten meet would work i'm sure 8)

I am quite happy to put one together but is there any protocol that needs to be followed so as not to step on anyones toes ?? Wouldn't like to offend anyone so soon after joining the club etc. There are a couple of fantastic campsites that I can put deals together with over in Felixstow and further up the coast and organise certain events etc but I would need to know well in advance for how many people it would be and the type of accomodation required etc. I would have no intrest in making any cash out of it myself although I thought that maybe any excess funds could go to Bruce's favorite charity ??
Any thoughts and advice greatly received.

I think a meet in a field some where is cool but it really helps to make sure there are "extras" available.

The off road course made this meet and the 4x4 record attempt was a bonus.

As a club one or two Main meets year would mean that the attendance does not get diluted.

Regional meets are good but there's not much chance of having the same turn out as a main meet in a central location.

Just my thoughts on it.

Respect for anyone who takes on arranging a meet.

This was my first meet. It was rather fab, sureal the Missus said!!! It was just like those bike rallies I used to go on. Wink

Everyone was friendly and the weather added to the experience. :D

Bruce deserves a gold Blue Peter badge for this. Well done. :D

I've got a load of pics but couldn't figure out how to post them Rolling Eyes

We did the 4 x 4 event afterwards & followed the white bunnie mobile back to Towcester, turned off the dual carraige way and it vanished Shocked - just like Alice in Wonderland. Has anyone seen it since?

Hi "kick inside" i'm sure nobody thought you were being unsociable. We also spent a lot of the time in the Deli, partly due to the cold and partly due to my wife suffering with a migraine. Hope your wife is feeling better now Wink

Yes t'was a bit chilly, which is why there were very few sightings of "Mrs IanFJ" AKA Joan. She spent most of the meet int the carvan keeping warm so didn't end up stinking like a bonfire!!! Still trying to wash the smell out of my jumper.

Thanks all for a great time, sorry I wasn't about much as I still had to keep an eye on the Mrs because, as some of you are aware she had an operation a couple of weeks ago and was unable to come out of the caravan or Deli' much Shocked she said that she didn't mean to be unsocial able Sad Normal service will be resumed next meet Wink Laughing

Many thanks to Bruce for putting together a great meet Wink

Great weekend - mega thanks to Bruce, you did a fantastic job, as did everyone else who chipped in.

Fortunately the weather at the weekend was much warmer than we're used to in the far north!!!! we came away with a nice sun tan.

How are the bids going on e-bay for the marquee with chimney??

It was good to meet the faces behind the names. Anyone passing our humble abode north of Edinburgh is welcome to pop in.

Karina and Paul - it says we haven't posted enough messages to reply direct to you - we'll work it out. Please get in touch if you need any info.

Thinking of changing our name to ICEBERG (something large that drifts slowly down from the north!!)
