greatings all. :D if i were to buy a 1992 L300 from an import auction what do i do to get the vehicle on the road? i have heard you do not need an sva if the vehicle is over 10 years old, is this true? once the sva is completed am i free to modify the vehicle as i see fit? any info you can give me would be appreciated. cheers all.

You don't need an SVA if it's over 10. (I know this cos' mine was 9.5 years old and my impatience cost me £700)!

For the SVA you have to remove items that are non-standard, then afterwards put them back on again! You can modify how you like once it's passed.

Then there is the registration fee with the DVLA, the MOT and TAX etc. Should not be too complex.

If you are buying of import auction website, be very very careful as there ARE hidden costs that even the one's that list all the costs don't admit to. Like autoadvan, who trixied me!

Just buy one over here, there are plenty about!
