We're only 14 miles from Sothend, in Stanford
Would be good to meet up when over there......last year in October the flights for 4 of us was only £140 so this won over taking the Deli along _________________ Beat

Hi
We were over in Spain last year (by plane) and went to the caves at Nerja (sp) and they had a Spanish registered manual Deli with the 'caves' logo on the doors, probably used as staff transport.
Cheers

Dang! I thought I was the only one thinking about it! Sounds good, Murcia is exactly where I was planning to go, Torrevieja to be specific, I was there last year but only for a few days, so I'm planning (was planning) a grand tour. I want to visit some places south of Bordeaux I went to as a kid on the way, that is if my Deli ever actually gets fixed. |

Dead right about Torrevieja not being the same as Murcia.
Torrevieja is a town in the Alicante Province, in the Valencian Community.
See:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torrevieja
Murcia is itself an Autonomous Community and a Town within it.
See:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murcia.
Having said that I know what you mean, I have friends living in El Campello, who told me Torravieja is mostly controlled by the Russian Mafia, so they don't go there. But I didn't tell them another friend of mine (an ex-Chief Inspector of Police) has a villa there.
See:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Campello.
I was planning a driving trip out there this summer, until the recent loss of my Deli scuppered things. The thought of a convoy of Deli's is mind blowing.
I suppose you know the return Ferry Fare, based on a two week trip, on the Norfolk Line is about £60 for a vehicle with up to 9 passengers in it. _________________

Now he tells me
Only kidding
Booked with Norfolk Line and costing £122 could have saved about £20/£30 by going in the middle of the night but not within our plans
Was hoping for 3 weeks away but can now only manage 2
8) Bring it on 8) :D _________________ Beat

Rough area, Torrevieja Seriously violent and more crime than almost anywhere on the coast.
I was lucky to live 130km from there, but I did visit once. Would never go again.
Go towards Almeria, theres some lovely places I can tell you all about in that region :D _________________

I suspose my experience is all relating to Andalucia. More specificaly between The border of Mercia and Andalucia as far along the coast as Almeria, well up to Motril, and then inland to Granada.
I lived there for many years and know the area quite well.
But if you plan to drive from the Alicanti region towards Mercia then on the Mediteranian Autovia towards Almeria I can point out some lovely beaches and points of intrest.
I supose If there is suficient interest I will put a post with some maps and photos for you. that would be no problem :D _________________
