Ricke, they're all over the place mate. Try Alloy Racing Fabrications and Rat Sport Like I siad i don't know the pro's and cons but how cool would these look, especially with an updated bar intercooler. Which takes me to my next question . . . . . . . .  Laughing

Mark's tanks are good aren't they?  Speaking of which, I keep meaning to stick a strip of black duct tape over mine where the crack of light is between the bonnet and wing (which is where my old tank seemed to be suffering the worst of the UV decay).

Older plastics from japan (this includes the dash plastic) does not have any UV protection additive in it....
the newer models post 97 seem to have much less brittle plastic due to them having more UV resistance...

Its normal practice these days to add UV protection to plastics used in Automotive aplication

also look at it this way.... the old tank lasted 14 years....

however to be safe black tape would not be enough...

try some sticky back tin foil type stuff !

My L400 header tank recently exploded. A few weeks ago it was pressurising which was diagnosed as cracked cylinder head. This was duly replaced. 4 weeks and best part of 1000 miles later the header tank blows up. Mechanic has checked head and gasket for cracks and cannot find any. Anyone got experience of this/suggestions?

Quite a common problem,

Use the search tab at the top to find any relevent info. (no doubt lewis will be along shortly with some links Laughing )

Strangerover sometimes has some at a good price...

There are bubbles appearing in the header tank when running normally, and it has just had a new head and gasket. Is this still normal?

hmmmm

depends on exactly how bubbly,
its normal for water to circulate, and the odd bubble to be in there...

Hi,
I'm a new member. Just bought an L400 Super Exceed which is great except for a cracked header tank.
Can anyone tell me where I can buy a new one at a reasonable price?
Regards,
Don.
