We have recently discovered the Delica and are keenly looking to buy one. One importer we spoke to recently told us that he will not be importing any Delicas in the near future. This is apparently because the SVA test criteria changed on 1/4/2004 and Delicas now will no longer pass. We haven't heard anything about this from other dealers and can't find anything about it on the DVLA web site. Has anyone else heard this and can anyone enlighten us?

Hi There Jacks and welcome to the club :D

There has indeed been some changes in hte way the sva is carried out and the Delica will still get through it but with more work involved than b4 ,beofre you could put them through as "disabled" by adding a steering wheel ball and there were then certain parts of the sva u need not go through i believe,if you take a look here http://www.MDOCUK.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=688 there is a link in this post to a pdf format guide to sva testing produced by pete millis an independant dealer on the club, i think what the garage told you was a load of rubbish and thereason thre not importing anymore is due toextra costs,
hope that helps atb
