I would have thought it would be extremely difficult, especially with the engine on the L300 being mounted 'under the floor' and very expensive.
Maybe cheaper to trade yours in for an L400 or if you like the L300 shape, get engine mods done. Basically a diesel's power output is restricted only by the amount of air you squeeze into that cylinder.
Modified turbo boost, fuel pump optimisation, boring engine out (if possible?), air filter modification, or even fitting an intercooler as someone else on this forum has looked into.
All of these would make better sense.
Don't think even our fellow far-eastern enthuisiasts have fitted a 2.8 lump in an L300.
No doubt I will be corrected by others if I'm wrong _________________ Any information in this posting is correct to the best of my knowledge and I accept no resposibilty for any actions or results based upon it.© |

Think a Rover V8 has been put in every kind of vehicle over the course of time _________________ Beat
