Hi folks, I'm after a bit of info and advice please.  Been looking at getting another Deli and have noticed
a lot seem to be petrol version now, my questions are, are they any good for towing and what are they
like for fuel consumption?

My first Delica was diesel, had it for fourteen years awesome machine. I only got rid of it as the underneath was deteriorating, ended up being exported to Gambia. I now have the Very Happy  petrol version and its even better tows well, downside it likes juice had it four years I won't be changing it.

The later diesels were not as popular over here as the early ones as they made the fuel system electronically monitored for fuel emissions. UK dealers weren't given the diagnostics as it's a JDM (grey import) vehicle, so if your electronics failed they were a pain to fix. Petrol has the advantage that you are less likely to get caught by ULEZones, and with the difference in diesel price, they work out about the same. If you use it a lot,  fitting LPG  could be a consideration,  great if you have a pump near home! By all accounts, the petrol (V6) is very fiddly to work on, even for basics like changing the plugs.
