I have an oil leak coming from the half moon seal at the front, maybe at the back too?
So i am going to change the lot again, gasket etc, so any tips on the job,  before i start ? recommended sealant ?  how much to tighten, are the aluminium half moons worth getting as an upgrade or anything else. thanks in advance

Only the usual, use a good gasket / halfmoon set, and only enough sealant, no nore ( or less:)
I had bad issues with an aftermarket rocker cover gasket that crushed really quickly and with only the requisite torque!
OEM gaskets are good, having the notorious 4d56t I have splashed out on the aly. half moon, with excellent results so far.

My handy Haynes Pajero manual says 4Nm for the 2.8 4m40,
Which requires a deft touch with a low range wrench...
