Hi all,

I was hoping someone may be able to help me out with a couple of questions.

I have been having trouble keeping the engine from stalling on first start up in the morning (2.8 diesel.) Classic fuel pump seal symptons I believe. The engine can be saved if I pump the fuel primer plunger on top of the fuel filter when it starts to stall. Once running after a few minutes, it stays running fine.

I also seem to have lost a little coolant recently. To make sure the head was okay, I just compression tested the engine and got the following results:

Cylinder 1 - 440
Cylinder 2 - 440
Cylinder 3 - 420
Cylinder 4 - 470

Just wondering if anyone with experience can help confirm for me that these compression results do not indicate and HG issues? They seem good to me but I have limited knowledge in this area.

Also, is the stalling almost definitely fuel pump seals or could it be the primer etc?
