Just a starter for 10 to see who fancies a Dorset weekend meet in late spring/early summer?
Stay here:
http://www.longthornsfarm.co.uk/
They allow fires, campervans, tents and have glamping huts for those that like a roof.
https://g.page/LongthornsFarm?share
Visit here - 5 mins down the road from campsite, all inside if it rains.
https://tankmuseum.org/
Take the kids here - next door to the campsite, you can hear the gibbons in the morning :-)
http://www.monkeyworld.org/
Find some green Lanes:
Don't know the area but maybe see if we can cobble together some green lanes to explore
There is a FB group I found called "Dorset green road explorers - green lane association (glass)" so will take a look for ideas.
And there is some nice scenery https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrm7bBDWLF4
Go to the beach
And if the sun comes out Lulworth cove coastline for beach / rock climbing / ice creams.
Open to thoughts, suggestions, complaints and ideas! GO! _________________ The PINK PIG!

Hi Roger.
Why not put this in the Events Section
For many years I've wanted to have a look at Lulworth Cove.
Is it Rich In Exmouth, may have a good knowledge of that area

Sounds like a good idea for next spring. Do you know if the campsite is Delica friendly [not official campervan conversion]?
Have done the tank museum a few years ago, brilliant day out.
@Deker, yes I know Lulworth very well. Have visited many times over the years. Can get a bit crowded getting to the carpark if the sun is out and you are not an early riser

Let me know if there's enough interest - I can move this to the events section (rather than you start a new thread) _________________ If you're not living life on the edge, you're taking up too much room!

I love Dorset, just wish it wasn't so far, although hopefully fuel prices will get lower. There are a few lanes which might be suitable in the Purbeck, and Lulworth area, according to my 'Trailwise 2' green lane mapping, although quite a few have official restrictions and closures on them. And of course, if you really want to get down and dirty, there are loads of well-used trails on Salisbury plain. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |
