|
|
Good evening all
Quick question, does anyone know where I can obtain a genuine Mitsubishi head gasket for my Delica L400 4m40 ?
Internet seems to be coming up blank, maybe there is an alternative make of gasket that is as good as genuine someone could recommend?
Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm still quite new to owning my L400 but have found www.mitzybitz.com and www.filspajerosltd.com to be very helpful, have you tried them?
If they can't help directly, they may suggest where to try.
Good luck! |

I got mine from a Mitsi dealer back in the day if they still exist but there are four different thicknesses I think.

Thanks to Uncle Nick, Bazza & Mr D for your replies
Yes have used Mitzybitz before..
I have managed to order a genuine Mitsubishi type C/3 notch gasket from Paul Phillips @ Palmer's Mitsubishi dealer in Maidenhead - a very helpful chap!
(C stamped on engine block & measured piston protrusion - 0.58mm)
Here's hoping with a genuine Mitsubishi head gasket the second aftermarket head purchased in just over a year will last longer.....!
Also having my diesel pump tested & calibrated and injectors reconditioned at Diesel Bob's - also a very helpful & VERY knowledgeable guy!
Thanks again all |

Just heard back from Diesel Bob regarding state of the diesel injector pump, and it's not good news!..
Following bench test: major issues with pump - very poor suction, excessive mid range delivery, discoloured fuel from pump return.
Inspected internally and found to be contaminated with engine oil and signs of rust.
Advised pump rebuild required.
Full rebuild of pump Inc new vane pump, test & calibrate - £428 plus vat... Ouch!
Plus injectors rebuilt - £192 plus vat
It's been an expensive couple years with the Delica and as mentioned above I am in the middle of the second head replacement!
The advice I am after is:
1.Would anyone agree with me that the faulty diesel pump could have caused the engine to overheat and crack the head again?
2. Has anyone else had a diesel pump rebuilt... Is it worth it!? Or...
3. Would I be best to try and source a good second hand pump.. obviously I then take the risk!
Any advice or opinions greatly appreciated! |
