Hi all,
my dash instrument light went out the other day (and the dash indications of side lights and lo beam).
I replaced a 10A fuse under the bonnet (front right I think) and I now have side lights, tail lights etc. working, which were not prior, but the instrument light is still not working and the indications that lo beam or side lights are on also are are not working.
I replaced a tail light bulb that was badly carbonised, so possibly the original fault, but why are the dash lights not working now?
From elsewhere it seems a relay may be in need of replacing, but which one is it?
Thanks for any help

There is a list of which fuse does which circuits here:- http://www.MDOCUK.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=50650 _________________

Thanks, as far as I can see I have checked everything there is to check, certainly all fuses are now intact.
However, nowhere is the dash illumination listed as part of a circuit.
If it was only the illumination I could believe it was a bulb, but as the indicators for the headlights also are not working it seems something else must be wrong.
Again, no info specifically mentions the dash illumination wrt relays. |

Some models hgave a rotatable dash switch for dimming the lamps, on the right side of the steering wheel.
If you have one and it has been accidentally turned to a low level, it will seem as though the lamps don't work.

Being broad daylight I think I missed that the dash is actually illuminating.
I'm not certain that the adjuster wasn't part of the issue. Now it seems I DO have background illumination,
but still no indication when I turn on my lights that I have done so.
That is starting to seem likely to be a single bulb issue I think.
I presume the whole dash fascia needs demounting to access these though |

I did a post, in 2015, showing how to open the dash up to access the innards.

Thank you. Sorry, these may seem like dumb questions. When the bulb/fuse blew I was looking for problems that weren't there.
I don't think this van has an indication for side lights/normal beam. At least, having now dismanteled the dash and checked all the bulbs I didn't find one that showed the green light symbol.
I must be thinking of my wife's car. D'oh!
Anyway, while I'm at it, there is a choke like plunger under the dash, the purpose of which i've never fathomed. It has something like a samurai sword on it, but I don't think it means that! |

okay, found out that is basically a chooke, which seems a bit quaint on a 2006 car.
Just while i'm at it, when towing what are the best options re A/T switch, OD switch and 4 wh drive mode? |

That is to open and close the airvent from the bonnet scoop to the back of the inlet, behind the glove box. _________________

I don't tow with this vehicle, so I can't answer that for you properly, check the towing section of the website. _________________
