I've put this up on FB, but wondered if anyone else has experienced and resolved this problem on their L300. The horizontal shaft from the steering box to the rack has noticeable wear in the universal joint (grasp and twist), which gives about 40 - 50 mm of play at the steering wheel. The caps on this U/J don't have circlips, they appear to be machine staked with several punch marks around the perimeter - like they weren't intended to be serviced. It has just passed it's MoT with not even an advisory on this, (I think they were very busy) so if I can't sort anything closer, I know I can get one from T3 4x4 in Taiwan, for about £100 + + whatever the customs man decides to screw me for.
