Hiya
I’ve been looking long hard for a set of emission solenoid valves for my truck as they intermittently (usually on a warm day, heading up hill with too much stuff on board) trigger the engine warning light and I lose turbo
I’ve tried here, Australia and Japan with no luck so far. Amayama said they had them then didn’t
I have heard and apologies as I can’t find a post on here about it, that you can bypass them!?
Any help much appreciated.. keep on trukin |

Hi Blair, more info on exactly which model/year/engine your truck is would be useful to anyone who knows that model. I've never seen anyone mention emission solenoid valves in any context, are you sure that's what they are called? _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Hi Andy thanks.. apologies I should have put in more detail!
Mine is a L400 Super Exceed 1997 Facelift 2.8 Diesel (PE8W0301277)
And boy do I love it.
I was told it is called the emissions solenoid but that could be wrong.
I changed the throttle body for a brand new one when I was advised that the warning light and subsequent loss of turbo was down to both that (one of the vacuum cylinder cap things was loose) and the emission solenoid (after a diagnostic). The problem became less frequent when I did this but occasionally it can still let me down
So I’ve been looking to change that as well.
It is situated right in front of you when you open the bonnet. Kind of infront and to the left of the throttle body above the engine bolted with a bracket to the under side of the the wipers panel. It’s got several vacuum hoses, two little black plastic cylinders and some electrical bits and bobs (smallish part)
Mitsubushi part number ME202715
Is it something else maybe? |

Series 2 model, for the Electronic fuel pump. The Series 1, with the mechanical pump, does not have them.
E-Bay - Japan - ME202715 EM Air Valve set
Owners who have had S2 electronic pump problems have replaced them with Series 1 pumps and ECU units, which lets them do away with the Emissions unit. _________________

That’s brilliant thanks Lewis.
Hmm not sure if I want to replace it now or do as mentioned and swop it out for a mechanical setup.
Although quite practically capable I’m a bit scared of ECU
Likely I get this part.
Many thanks

Something about this unit has been niggling me all day and I've just realised what it is.
The part was used with some L400 Vacuum systems, fitted to the rear of the intercooler Rad, on the left side as you looked in the engine bay. NB: Not the unit fitted on the fuel injector side.
The ones that had it were fitted with Aircon, ABS and EGR. It was also plumbed into the cold start system. Those without aircon would have used a single solenoid, which have different wiring connectors.
There is a potential source in breakers like mitzy Bits and others that have kept stores of second hand parts from dismantled vehicles.
It may also have been used with the 4M40 engine used in the 2.8TD Shogun/Pajero models. _________________
