My heater blowers / windscreen demister have stopped working suddenly. All working fine then nothing. Power windows working which I think is sign that fuses for blowers are okay. The rear blowers are working fine but absolutely nothing from front.

Anyone point me in right direction of what to check? How to fix?

I'm a complete novice so photos would be massively helpful if possible. I've seen something about getting to fan behind glove box but worried about taking stuff apart without knowing what my end goal should be.

Physically check/test the two fuses marked Heater and Heater Relay, shown in the photo below.

Great  I'll give that a go. I did have a quick check and all looked okay but granted it was rushed and getting dark.

A little stuck now.

Fuses all okay. Rear heater blowing. Air conditioning fan blowing. The heater variable switch not doing anything.

I've got lower glove box off. Anything I should be checking?

With ignition on, engine off, can you hear the flap servo(s) working when you move the heater control? (or press the button if electronic controls?) Not sure if there is a visible/accessible servo-flap linkage on the outside of the heater box on these that you can "help" to move. It's not an uncommon fault. Also check wiring and connectors to servo motor are clean and intact. A tiny bit of corrosion/oxidation on connectors/switch contacts will break a circuit, typically happens in damp weather.

PS, relays also go faulty, but I wouldn't know where heater relays are on L400.

It is leaf falling season, leaves and debris can find their way through the fresh air intake grill on the battery side of the bulkhead.

They make their way to the fan drum and jam it, stopping it from spinning.

I took off the grill and stuffed my Hoover nozzle down the chamber, then I reversed my hoover and blew the fan wheel so it spun like a turbo, this freed it up and it worked for me.

Warning: be gentle as there is a temperature probe half way down the chamber which controls the climate control, easy to snap off. Shocked

I also found when I dropped my glovebox that there is a flap on top of the chamber which lets in outside air or when closed recirculates inside air, mine had unclipped itself from the open/shut mechanism so it was flapping about on its own. Easy fix as I reattached the the nylon gear to the actuator and now works as it should. Idea
