Does it have electronic ignition, timed by crank sensor, or old-fashioned contact breaker points, in a moveable distributor? Also, does the fuel pipe run near a hot part of the engine or exhaust? Also, ignition coil(s) can start to fail. One symptom of this is that they get hot, and this increases their resistance/ lowers their output, so the sparks fail. Not a problem with a cold coil, but causes problems starting if hot.

As andyman says, about the ignition coil.

Also, a known problem with hot/warm gasoline/petrol engines is Vapour/Vapour Lock,
where the fuel"boils"in the fuel pipes.

I have had this problem. Cured it by fitting an electric pulse type pump.
