Hi all I was wondering, can you fit landrover springs and shocks to lift the 400 or can you buy a lift kit for it
Thanks in advance

Hi Chris.

West coast off road stock the full Ironman kit, torsion bars and shocks for the front and springs and shocks for the rear. I've fitted Britpart DA4205 disco springs on the rear of my lwb. They support an additional 200kg (compared to what standard disco springs are rated to carry anyway) rated for 360lbs and have a free height of 430mm. If you're not planning on carrying loads of gear or a rear swing arm mount then the DA4204 are rated for 100kg extra and have a free height of 425mm. Milner's also sell a rear spring set for the Deli don't know what weight they're rated for but have a free height of 400mm.

I think my springs were heavily worn before as it now sits about 3.5" higher empty but with 180kg loaded in the rear it comes down half an inch. I didn't take any measurements beforehand but if you're looking side on, the bottom of the sills were level with the middle of the hub and after the new springs the sills sitting just above the rim of a 15" alloy. I have fitted the Ironman rear shocks as the standard ones weren't long enough and completely extended as it was sitting and any small bump I was getting a jutting effect as the shock compressed slightly then was pulled fully open with the expansion of the new springs. Only raised the front 1" with the torsion bars but going down the route of 40mm ball joint spacers to get her nice and high and I'll be fitting the IronMan shocks to the front also. Very impressed with them, the rears (with pin and eye for ECS) were £156 delivered I'll mention.

Lifting the body height this much however, you will run into a couple issues. The brake force regulator won't function as it should and the rear sway bar will be under more strain. I haven't had to make any alterations or extend the rear brake fluid lines so that's a bonus! There's a kit you can buy from Russia with spacers for the upper ball joints, and the mounts for brake force regulator, rear bumpstops, rear sway bar. It's about £280 but extensive work to fit depending how easy your bolts holding everything together will come apart.
Sorry for rambling on, hope it's of help.
Dave
