Hi all, noticed vet the last couple of weeks that my Deli has developed two small leaks. Just been under to have a look and one is from two small hoses that go from the bottom of the radiator to a tiny radiator behind the near side headlamp and the fluid is like thin red oil - what are these pipes as one has a small split and will need replacing. The second leak is about halfway back in the engine bay and looks like coolant. It had cam belt and water pump done so would the water pump be this far back and possibly not sealed correctly? It’s a 2005 3.0 V6

The auto gearbox has two cooling radiators, one at the bottom of the main radiator, the other is the small one you have identified. The red fluid is Auto Transmission Fluid (ATF or auto gearbox oil/hydraulic fluid. Under most normal temperate conditions, the small radiator under the headlight is unnecessary but provides additional cooling when the gearbox is under heavy load, eg long, steep gradients (very few in UK), and towing/carrying heavy loads.
Filling and topping up the ATF is via the gearbox dipstick tube on the rear RHS of the engine as you look at it. It has a wider neck than the engine dip stick tube specifically for this purpose.
If the split is close to the little radiator, you can simply detach the two rubber tubes from it, cut off the split piece, and connect the two ends together with a suitable piece of 10mm copper pipe and two jubilee clips, to re-establish the loop, pending replacement. You will need to clamp the hoses before disconnecting to prevent excess loss of ATF.
There is a red A/T temperature warning light on the instruments.
More info on which side of the engine the coolant leak is, will help others familiar with the V6 to suggest possible sources to inspect.

Thanks for that info. Will have a go at it in the next few days The coolant seems to be central. I’ll get a better look and post some more info

The split is on the spigot as it connects to the bottom of the radiator, just behind the jubilee clip. If I undo the jubilee clip I may be able to cut the end off and slip back on?

That is one option, just be careful not to over-stress the pipe or spigot.

The part of the radiator that the ATF passes through is composed of two tubes, one within the other, sealed at the end, so that the fluid is only a very fine film as it passes along the thin gap between the two tubes. Water passing through the bore of the smaller tube and around the outside of the larger diameter tube is what initially cools the ATF down.
After passing through the bottom of the radiator, the fluid then passes into an air cooled radiator, sited below the nearside headlight. So disconnect the hose at the opposite end of the radiator as well.
and ensure you have a receiving container at the exit ends of anything you flush through.

Leaks sorted. Repaired tranny oil hose and found a tiny hole in a Coolant hose so replaced that. On to the next on the list. There always seems to be something to do on these trucks!!
