Sorry, Annek, please clarify, are you saying you have discovered that the difflock was engaged?

Ouch!

Luckily it's a Deli so I realise you mean driven for hundreds of miles in excess of 39'ish mph, with difflock engaged and not hundreds of mph in excess of 39'ish.  Laughing

I drove it hundreds of miles, in excess of 39ish, and have no idea whether difflock engaged because of the panel being unlit, but it didn't behave in the described if difflock was engaged, so assumed it wasn't!

I put, as quoted, because maybe I hadn't been clear about which part of the engine I was talking about.

After deliberating over all the information given, I have come to the conclusion that your floor mat is stuck under the accelerator peddle.

There you go!

Yoza has cut through all the efforts at understanding and worked it out.  Laughing

Thank you for your carefully considered and obviously deeply researched findings Yoza, and despite all the evidence you have found in support, I'm afraid there isn't any evidence to support your theory (having looked at the mat, phew that was easy!  Very Happy something I could do  Very Happy  )

Finding myself wishing that really was the answer Yoza!

Why can't things be that simple heh?  Very Happy

Andyman, sorry I missed your post.  Saying not, but I can't tell due to light panel, but sounds like I'd have soon found out if I had.

Sorry for the delay in responding.

Do you know that your 4WD lever is definitely NOT in the diff-lock position? I have accidentally had my L300 in 4WD on dry roads on a couple of occasions for less than half a mile. The tyre scrub also made the transmission growl, and it ate power like the handbrake was half applied. Took it out of 4WD and normal, serene service was resumed!

I think its in an odd position but I can't tell from the super select light panel, as none of the lights work when I move the selector lever.

The lever seems to be fully down but strangely angled too far right.

Because it happened since I coplected the car from long repairs I feel like I couldn't definitely say it wasn't like that before.

Its a hell of a way to travel though in difflock!  Hundreds of miles!  Wouldn't something have happened?

You said 4WD?  That you drove in 4WD for a short while on road, which I do, when on climbs

With the engine off: Push the handle down vertically then move it to the left and backwards, Let me know what happens.

annek. Do bear in mind that the L300 (which andyman has) cannot be driven on tarmac/smooth roads, in 4WD.
Except in very slippery conditions.

L400's can be driven on tarmac/smooth roads in 4WD - NOT in Difflock mode.
