|
|
Hi Guys,
The transfer box seal for the output shaft that goes to the front diff is leaking.
What is the setup here? It it just a matter of removing the prop shaft and pulling the flange out?
Would I need a seal puller to get the seal out?
Thank in advance. |

It's just a simple rubber seal, Part No. MD731708.
Drain the transfer case first, then remove the prop and seal.
Fit the new seal and refill with fresh oil, assume it needs new oil if you don't know how long it is since you last replaced it.

Did the job today, not to bad at all. If I was going to do it again though, I would jack up the left hand side as it was a bit of a struggle working so close to it on it's wheels.
Thank for the help. |

Wait until the Rear Crankshaft Seal goes.
