Hi all
I'm after some help please, Deli has been for her MOT and failed for rot on structural area, the area in question is frame rail after rear cross member.
MOT guy was actually pretty cool and pointed out other areas that need looking at.
Inner sills in front of rear wheels.
Inside front wheel arches.
She is quite bad for surface rust, flaking paint and old underseal under hole car.
So I'm planning on removing rear axle, spare wheel and cage, fuel tank, exhaust, drive shaft, break lines, basically everything behind gearbox
The rear towing eyes looked like a good spot but rot about inch and a half in rear frame rail so thats out and rot in sills for about 6 inch in front of rear wheels so where can i lift her up and put axle stands
Any help would be much appreciated

I sat for an hour searching jacking locations, underseal and waxoil to try and find info without asking.
Thanks Lewis
Think I will lift by axle, break the nuts on rear swing arm, then use swing arm to sit on axle stands and hope I can get in to remove bolt and swing arm. _________________ Very happy owner of Black over grey L400 |

quick thought is it worth it or overkill to cut some inch pipe to size, to fit in support after i remove swing arm. _________________ Very happy owner of Black over grey L400 |

By 'swing arm' I assume you mean the Trailing arm.
If so don't sit that on axle stands. There is too much chance of sideways movement from the springs, which may result in it coming off.
Use the upper control arm, as per the photo in the linked post, which will hold it quite solid and keep the base od the stand sufficiently out of the way to give access to the inner side of the chassis.

The chassis rails are also good for supporting the car. You will need tall axle stands for that placement.
AND use a thin piece of plywood twixt the stand and the chassis rail, saves marking the metal work, and spreads the load
