Hi guys

I've had a problem with a stiff gear selector for the past few weeks, but with a little persuasion it would go into gear okay. Today, the gear selector moves much more freely, but the lights on the dash don't match the gears. For instance, I put it in Drive, and the van drives fine, but the dash shows Reverse and the reverse beeper sounds. On one occasion the car wouldn't start at all, I think this was because the selector wasn't reading as being in Park, which was stopping it starting. I jiggled the selector for a while and then it let me start it.

Anybody had this problem before?

Cheers

Mike

Does Pink Pig's downloadable manual in L300FAQs not shed any light on this? not sure if you should be looking under the selector shroud, or at the gearbox end.

Yes, I had that problem (L400)

Can someone say if the gearboxes are different  Question

If same as L400. Front Right of G/box there is a multi function switch (the switch can be seen on youtube Look up Inhibitor switch)
It is adjustable.

And is line with gear selector shaft. Which leads me to think,
from your description, that it may be that switch that is causing the "Stiff gear selector"
