Just a few notes that might speed the job .
Jack up axel on level ground and put on axel stands .chock front wheels
Remove rear  wheels.
Remove 4x14mm nuts that hold hub to axel.
Remove bolt that holds handbrake cable to trailing arm.
Disconnect metal brake lines and tape up .
Pull out half shafts about 4" using slide hammer on wheel studs or putting wheel loosely back on as a makeshift one ,or as a last resort you could use a chisel but risk of damage.
Drain oil. 24 mm
Remove 12/14mm propshaft bolts  , lever flange off and lower propshaft to floor without pulling it .
Remove all the 12mm nuts and locking washers that hold the diff to the case.
The diff will be held in only by sealant , to break the seal jack up front of diff .remove jack, some levering might be needed , its heavy so having something clean , inanimate and soft for it to drop onto is useful if its not going to scrap.
Replacement is straightforward don't forget flange sealant and  1.6 litres of hypoid oil .
P.s where you can use hex sockets rather than spanners or multipoint . Plus gas on the bolts useful . The ones into the trailing arms often shear but drilling and retapping doesn't take long . You don't need to remove calipers, discs or anti roll bar as some on web state , some pajero people did it without disconnecting brake pipes but steel pipes don't like repeated bending so risky .
Hope this helps someone .
