Hello
I'm new in this fantastic forum  :D, I'm writing from Spain ( sorry for my bad English :?  ) .
I have a Mitsubishi L300 4WD 92, I must put fender flares because I change the wheels but I have a problem  Sad , rear sliding doors.
Please, inform me about some method to extend the hinges so that they don't bang the flares. Photos or diagrams are welcome.
I hope that you understand my bad English.
Thank you very much.
Regards from Spain

Hi Jarvebest and welcome to the forum.

I have wide flares on my L400 and the sliding door has an adaptor to help it clear the rear arch.

It pushes the rear of the door out further and helps it clear the rear arch/flare, it can be a bit of a pain to close from the inside.  I don't think it's a standard part, metal monkeys may be able to help you as he has an L300 with wide arches and produces this type of part.

Hope this helps and good luck.

If you think your English is bad you should hear my Spanish Exclamation lol

Hi

I don't know if the door has to be modified, I don't think so.  Metal monkeys can be found on here as mystery machine  you will need to send him a private message, (pm).

Failing that if you show the picture to a good engineer he should be able to work it out and make you this part.

Hope you get it sorted.

Hi Tyler, and welcome. I hope you get a reply on this. I only know one L300 with flared wheel aeches/fenders, and he doesn't live near me. His door was extended by the previous owner.

PostPosted: Tue Mar 12, 2019 3:58    Post subject: how to install sliding door hinge L300 Reply with quote

I decided to just go for it and give it a try.

1- purchased Delica L300 Sliding Door Extension Door Hinge Thingy from FTS4x4 dot com Item number MD6D-68401 Was about $90.00 US

2- remove interior door handle, one phillips head screw in centre

3- remove interior panel, has 15 car interior trim clips around all sides. Use car interior trim clips tool amazon sell kit for $4.99 US

4- remove 2x 12 mm bolts that hold old hinge into place. Open door a little bit and prop back of door open. At this point you can slide hinge out.

5- measure out new Hinge on the panel, requires a little cutting. Deburred any sharp edges with a grinder.

6- Prime and paint new edges

7- You will use the old roller part from the hinge on the new one, grind or cut off top of pin and hammer out pin.

8- Install new hinge in door with the 2 12mm bolts you removed earlier. Slide old roller back into the side rail of van, using hardware from new hinge kit attach new hinge and old roller.

9- cut interior to allow new hinge to move and re-instal.

I have a few pic but having a hard time attaching them.

That is down to the website security settings. See:- http://www.MDOCUK.co.uk/forums/faq.php#22

I suggest waiting until sufficient time and posts allow image links to be utilised; then create a DIY section post.  Smile
