|
|
Today installed my new cheap oil catch can.
Lets start with the engine bay as it is now.
Here is the catch can (from left to right)
In - Out - In ( taped )
and the drain at the bottom.
Here is a metal bracket I made on my own ( actually a steel plate bent to fit in and painted )
in order to mount the catch can behind the engine in the fire wall.
Here is the final result without the hoses:-
and here are the hoses mounted:-
I hope that someone will find this post useful. _________________ Mitsos (my car) is a

Out of curiosity how much oil would this can collect.? Is it just added to stop oil going into the air intake. I checked my air intake it seems I'm getting a little oil in here so thinking of adding one |

As you can see HERE ... I also got some oil in the intake (pre turbo)
so it was installed to see if it will make any difference
It was installed at 401400 Km on the clock ...
After 1000 or 2000 Km I'll check again _________________ Mitsos (my car) is a

After 400,000 km, a little oil is hardly surprising. Very reassuring for those of us on less than half that! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |
