Hi all,
Working on my new to me '96 Delica.
I read as many posts as I could about the dreaded adhesive roof rust. Just wondering what long term fixes people might have done and how successful was it? I've gone to the trouble of pulling out all the roof liner to see the extent of the damage, it really does seem limited to the two adhesive spots on the front, and at least one if not two spots on the rear (one on the rear evident from inside but not outside yet).
Bog, spray move on? How long will that last?
Cut the whole lot out somehow? How do you go about removing the adhesive with the structural rails in the way?
Not sure whats going on with the white paint, some panel beaters suspect someone used house paint!
I have pictures but not enough posts to allow me to post them yet.
While I have the lining out, anything else I should consider doing, has anyone insulated or added stick on soundproofing type stuff to the roof?
Thanks in advance.
Gany. |

Are you talking about the front above the rear view mirror? |

Yes thats the spot, where the the bracket is glued to the roof sheet. Theres also a spot rear centre where there is more adhesive where its rusted as well. |
