Oil and filter every 5,000 miles (8,000 Km's) if using good quality oil and filter.
I use Castrol Magnetec and Blueprint filters, but more often with the cheap oils and filters.
Air filter clean at 5,000 miles, replace at 10,000 miles.
Fuel filter 10,000 miles if using quality diesel.
Grease propshaft and halfshafts 5,000 miles.
Gearbox oil (Auto)when looks burnt ( browny colour), never had to change mine yet!!
Diffs same, rear is LSD so needs special oil, front normal gear oil.

HTH.

seems that i've made things worse in my mind ... i'm confused  hmmm
two mechanics i've asked and they gave me two different answers ...
the first one suggest me to use 15w-40
and the other (owner of an L400Delica) 10w-40 ..

Help please ...
its the first time ever that i'll try to change oils and filters on my own and i don't feel very comfortable ... scratch

The oil numbers cover different temperature ranges, so it is just a case of working out what sort of temperatures you will be using the vehicle in. In the UK it gets really cold, so a 10W-40 has a good working temperature range, for lower temperatures.

Either spec will suit you. The 15W-40 may be a bit cheaper, though it can also have additional additives in it, but you need a Semi synthetic oil.

This chart, from the Mitsu workshop manuals, shows the temperature ranges that each oil type covers. so just work out which you prefer.

Thank you Lewis for the informative answer ..

seems that 10w-40 is more close to the everyday temp requirements here in Greece.
40 is a must for sure during summer ... also 10 required only a few days every winter ... but i think that won't harm if i use it ..

There is any other significant side effect in the engine  ?

i'm a bit cautious because i don't want to do something that will harm a totally repaired engine .
My mechanic uses 15-40 right after the repair ..  but i tend to 10-40

I've just done five weeks driving through France and Spain and the oil in my engine is the same as I use in the UK (10W-40). Their weather temps are in the same ranges as Greece. I also serviced the cars for a couple of old army friends who live out there. They have lived there for over 40 years, and they only had containers of 10W-40 in their garage. So that seems to answer the question.  Wink

I've used only 10/40 semi-synthetic in mine for the last few years, L300 with 4D56T engine. Runs a treat in all temperatures (and it was very hot here this summer).
