Hi all,
The ABS light has come on on my L400 Space Gear. Can anyone point me where to start looking, are there any common faults that are the most likely?
Cheers,

From experience.... The first thing I would do is check the back of the front brake discsto see if the sensor prong has been snapped off.

And a clean out with the hose. Mine did this, Lewis pointed me in the direction of the sensor head and I found a clean out with the hose of the sensor and ring on both front wheels was enough to fix the problem. Hasn't returned for over 2 years on my Deli.

Abs sensors look like this ( circled ) from the back of the splash plate.
I cleaned mine when I did my discs as they are magnetic so they pick up and hold metallic swarf from your discs and pads, and rust from your backing plates. They run close the a cog attached to the disc and send a signal if the wheel locks which in turn triggers your abs pump, if they are covered in debris they send the wrong signal at the wrong time, or indeed, not at all.

OO! Nice photo Yoza. :D
This is what a new front nearside one looks like (from my spares box) that I never got around to fitting on a previous Deli.
I don't have ABS on my current one.

I noticed that sometimes my 4x4 lights would flash and then the abs light would come on, someone on the forum had a similar scenario and suggested unplugging the two wires on the transfer box, so thats what i did and it worked, a big up to that chap :D cheers daz |
