Hi all, have trawled the forum but can’t find anything about this so hoping someone out there can help
I imported my CV5W Delica G-Navi to the UK back in 2018 and she’s been a fantastic motor ever since.
At the time if the IVA I opted to have the odometer converted to miles travelled. However, when done, the total distance travelled in Japan (128292km / 79716 miles) was locked (with no further movement) in odometer B.
All new miles travelled go onto odometer A. The issue is that odometer A only has room for 9999 miles before ticking over back to 0.
I need to get this corrected somehow to satisfy my insurer in terms of future mileage.
Can any of you suggest a way to get odometer B restarted or moving again?
Hope this makes sense and let me know if any further detail would help.
Alternatively, would it be realistic to buy a cluster from a 2.4 cv5w UK Outlander (ie one that hasn’t been frozen and is already calibrated in miles rather than km) and swap it with the current one?
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated! |

Hey Three_Kilos, good to hear you're enjoying your D5 - we imported ours a couple of years back and have found it to be a fantastic thing!
An Outlander cluster swap sounds a bit complicated - have you tried a local 'mileage correction specialist'?
We had a speedometer pulse correction box fitted on import which sorted the dials for the SVA (they just blanked off all the 'k's' from 'kmh' on the dials / dash info displays). However the SVA place couldn't convert the existing kmh figure on the odometer so it was just adding miles to this figure - it had only done 16k miles on arrival.
Like you, we wanted this sorting for MOT / insurance purposes, so had it done by Rob at CODE up in Rochdale. It involved removing the entire cluster and connecting it up to his van full of electronic wizardry but was done really quickly for a great price. *The site won't let me post up links - guess it's been too long a time since I've been around here (used to have an awesome L400 LWB Super Exceed some years ago) but a search should give an idea.
Unless you are planning a Northern road trip, Rob might be a bit of a trek away for you - but could definitely be worth checking locally to you.
Ours is a 2018 diesel, so don't know if the cluster will be the same as yours, and ours wasn't frozen but wanted to share what worked for us.
Good luck! _________________ Michael |
