Just some info I've found out about a Temporary Prohibition Order for Motor Vehicles (and Horses) on Green Lane U5001. Tilberthwaite. Effective from September to Christmas 2018. The road is closed from High Tilberthwaite to Fell Foot farm for major repairs. It will probably sanitise the route for easier access after major complaints from the Farm at High Tilberthwaite as it was worn and rough in places (just the way we like them). Anyhow its better than a complete closure.

Additionally the Old Coach Road has been repaired over this summer after being washed out a couple of years ago during the storms. I'm not sure when it re-opens (end September maybe I'll try and find out) but it may even be open now.

May well be a candidate for next years Cumbria meet.

That's good news, Paul. I may pop up to the old coach road with my bike and see what they have done. When Luke (Gotbeanz) and I did it immediately before this year's Coniston meet, they had started repairing it from the eastern (Dockray) end, but the badly washed out bits were still deep trenches, causing us to take it in turns to get out, and guide each other through. There were a few dodgy moments where we got cross-axled and scraped our rock-slider front steps and bashed our bash plates. I think I now want to treat the old bus with more care and respect. Still not sure if it was Old Coach Road or Knipe Fold that split my tyres!
