It was great to have you and Louis along, and not just as gate closers, for which big thanks! Great to have such a good turnout with such uncertain weather prospects. Fortunately very slight drizzle only.

It did pour down last night but Lewis, Deker and me were all tucked up in our beds aboard our respective vehicles.

Was a good meet, will have to try and make it an annual thing.

Had Mitsi in 4WD Low for the 1st time ever and she was a pain to get in and even more so to get out.
However I was impressed with the way she went up that steep rock strewn climb.

Sorry I left the group early, it was a personal thing, you know what I am on about, enough said.

Chris has posted an excellent video on FB - loads of 'Wish I'd been there - why did I not know about this?' comments follow! Not like I hadn't been promoting it for last six  weeks! So I think we will have even more next year - probably same weekend. But we might have to break up into smaller groups for off-roading and convoys. Could take out some of the stress and be fairer on other motorists/laners. Apologies for my loss of good humour, never realised how being mother duck could shorten my fuse!

This part of the post, only applies/understood to the folks that were there. Mr D

Shortly after that stop at  Moss Force Waterfall,
and  "Down the Hill" towards the A66, with a coffee break, at least you had me to console with  Wink

Hope I made a reasonable job of it.

Mr D

After you guys left Moss Force Waterfall,  I carried on to to the Winlatter pass.

My satnav found a tarmac farm track that was a most interesting drive  Smile
If we go that way again, I'de like to show it to members.

Quite understandable Andy, considering the circumstances.

Though I reckon we can ensure that stress factor doesn't return.  Wink

It was a good weekend; the last night back at the campsite had Deker turn up with an Indian, curry that is; which was lucky as Ian and I had polished off the last of my chips and a couple of chicken and Chorizo pies, done in his gas oven. Bonus was Ian also did the washing up.  Smile

NB: I don't do Facebook, so unfortunately won't be able to see the video. He did some fast paced action doing stuff, as he was running along some sections of track faster than I was driving.  Laughing

No worries - we enjoyed bringing up the rear - quite a view from the back of the queue as all those Delis snaked along the tracks. It was great to meet / re-meet folks from the forum.

Thanks to Paul for guiding us on to the lanes. On the way home we tried one out over the back of Whitbarrow Scar (named the Whitbarrow Road on the sign post - U5600 in the list of local lanes). The first half, climbing up from the Winster side (starting around 54.298383, -2.869611), was quite interesting and fun. Once over the 'hump', there is a long, straight (not so interesting) descent to the Lyth valley on the other side. Most of the track has young trees encroaching on it, so it probably wouldn't suit a van with a roof rack or awning attached.

Unfortunately on the way home I got Mercedes rash from a silly woman who tried to overtake me as I was overtaking another vehicle.
Luckily most of it will polish out hers won't, she had a torn and bent front wing!!!

How ironic, probably my fault for posting on Chris's FB video 'NO DELICAS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS FILM' - asking for trouble! I hope you got at least the price of a bottle of T-Cut out of her, Ian. When I got home and started putting stuff away, I noticed that the other back tyre I had taken off to replace with a matching pair  after Thursday's blow-out, while still inflated, has a wide crack in the tread exposing the steel belting. So from now on, I'll be choosing less extreme challenges, where I can afford to lose some clearance by letting the tyres down. Chris has posted a nine minute video on You tube of our weekend, titled 'Mitsubishi L300 L400', an excellent record of an (almost) entirely excellent weekend. Thanks again to all for making it so.

Brilliant vid and Pics, makes me wish I had come but as I'd only had the bus for a couple of weeks I wanted to put some sanity miles on it first.

Next time though  Twisted Evil

Just finished emptying my camera and selecting a few shots, which don't do it justice, as much as Chris's superb video.

And for those of us staying Sunday night at the campsite, a display of formation flying:  Rolling Eyes

That is an amazing video, nice music too.
I do like the combination of scenery and our cars.

Thanks for that Lewis  :D  I hope a reminder a bit further down the page helps a little  Smile

I have saved this link into a folder. When I get too old to get out and do these journeys, be something to ogle -
and say "I did that"

Some lovely shots, Lewis. You don't always see all the scenery when you are driving through it!

Really nice video and photos there....  :D

A word to the wise for future reference though. When greenlaning the Green Lane Association has a code of conduct that we as a club try to follow: https://www.glass-uk.org/about/our-code-of-conduct.html

It is also referenced in the Green landing section: http://www.MDOCUK.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2242

Not having a go at anyone here... It's only about the number of vehicles in a group and general good behaviour stuff whilst out enjoying the lanes etc. It applies equally to the lads on the bikes in the video which went 'off piste' to get past you  Wink  Cheers  Razz
