Should have done this earlier, but hoping this will prove at least as popular as last year's Coniston meet.
I have chosen Coniston Hall campsite again, as it is large enough, cheap enough, fairly informal, and doesn't need booking, - in fact they operate on 'first come, first served'- just turn up and pay. This is the end of most schools' half-term holiday, and should not be as busy as the previous, bank holiday weekend. Last year, a few of us camped near Muker in Swaledale, on the Friday night, and then on Saturday visited Tan Hill for a snack and Deli line-up photo call, then continued, via the track to Bowes, and then on to Coniston to meet with others. If people would like to do this, I would be happy to do this again, the camp site we used was Usha Gap, small, but with good, clean facilities and friendly owners. You would need to book. However, bearing in mind some may be driving a long distance home on the Sunday, it might be better to go straight to Coniston on the Friday, so we can have the Saturday green laning, or other tours etc. I'll be staying until Sunday lunchtime.
Again, if folks are coming to the Lake District earlier, I will be on holiday from Friday, 25th May, and would be pleased to meet up at almost any time that week. I'll be putting this on Delica FB as well, hoping for a good turnout. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Might have a clash with a week in a static in North Wales. Also - MOT tomorrow. If neither of these things stop me, then I'll be there for sure! _________________ 1992 L300 Super Exceed |

BB - my fault for not deciding and posting earlier. If you are going to AO in September as well as this weekend, I'll see you there. Tim - if you can't make it, perhaps I'll see you in Kendal, to crack a bottle over the Deli's bull bar for her post-MoT re-launch! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Roger, we'd be honoured! I know it's all classed as "up norf" from the South coast, but according to AA route planner, it is 184 miles/3h18mins from Llanberis to Coniston - but I'm sure you know that! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Retest today. I had to go to the garage and fiddle with the fog light switch (the tell tale was a bit flaky and failed the test - seems okay now). It also failed on headlamp aim (garage will sort this before the retest). I think this was due to the fail item last year for lack of bump stop clearance at the front. I raised the torsion bars for a retest at the time, but as the headlamps had passed the initial test, it wasn't noticed that the suspension tweak had put them out of alignment , and so this year, they failed on that. Given they're not much brighter than a candle, I don't think I've blinded anyone with them in the last twelve months. _________________ 1992 L300 Super Exceed |

Hello everyone!
Sorry for the silence. I would very, very much love to join you particularly given what looks like potentially a really good turnout. I'm going to do my utmost - unfortunately work commitments may throw a spanner in the works. But this thread has given me plenty of motivation to pull a conveniently planned sicky...
More soon,

You and others make positive reference to this site. I haven't been there myself.
I read more than a few reviews that commented specifically on the rudeness of the staff at this site.
It seems to run more on a Ryanair principle of user pays, fair enough.
However, youtube video and various texts make no mention of or reference to disabled facilities (or indeed if the regular facilities are accessible or not).
It seems the site has a thing about gazebo type tents too, not at all welcome apparently. _________________ 2.8 1994 L400 LWB blue/grey Super Exceed
