Had a Velocette Venom Clubman when I passed my test.
Went to get a Bonneville but Triumph had just put their prices up from £320 to £326 and my Dad wouldn't lend me the other £6.
So got the Venom for £319 19s 6d and it turned out a way better bike.
Wish I still had it,worth a bomb now.

Great pics! It was good to catch up with the last three standing later on Sunday Smile Thanks for letting us nose around your campers.

Sorry I could only turn up in the Justy. My L300 is nearly ready for an MOT - may even get it booked in this week.

I like how Lewis's L400 looks so happy in the Grizedale photo - I'd never noticed they have such a 'smiley' face.

Hopefully, there will be another meet soon that more can make it to, with their Delis in full working order. It was a good meet, aided by better weather than BBC's  wonderful Carole forecasted.

Was good to meet you all this weekend but sorry I couldn't fully commit on the Sunday. Hope you enjoyed the lanes and didn't get lost. The Eagles Head in Satterthwaite is a favourite of mine, especially in winter when they get that big log burner going.

Was quite jealous when I watched you all drive off on Sunday, got a few photos of that which I will post when I sort them out.

I'll bet the food tastes even better after  a bit of tricky winter off-roading!  My Delica isn't kitted out for it, but I wouldn't mind  riding shovel-man  in a  serious off roader!

It was happy as there were four guinea pigs in front in case there were any iffy bits of track especially slippy downhill ones.  Laughing

I've moved my photos here from the planning post, to keep them all together.

T'was indeed a good, though chilly at night, weekend.

I decided, at the last minute to go, putting off attending a stuffy event I was supposed to be at, on the Saturday afternoon, at a museum in Halifax.

I headed direct to the Farmers Arms in Mukar and was well tucked into some fish and chips when Pat, Ian and Andy arrived.  Unlike Ian and Andy I had not booked into Usher Gap so followed Pat, at breakneck speed in the dark, to camp up by his cottage.

I woke up to a magnificent view down the valley, followed by a HUGE and luscious sausage, egg, mushroom and baked beans breakfast from Pat - Thanks Pat it was gratefully received.

This is the view over Pat's garden wall:-

Here are a couple of photos from me and a video will follow when Photobucket plays ball and lets me upload it.

This was at Tan hill on Saturday lunchtime;-

These two are from the Sunday offroading sessions, along some nice gentle tracks with good views:-

At one point I wondered if we had taken a wrong turn and ended up in the Highlands

Plus a bit of video:-  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JGnznXYbks

Around lunchtime we happened upon a quiet village pub called the Eagles Head, in Satterthwaite, so the L300's took over the carpark and I parked on the roadside. On entering it was totally empty, with just a couple of folk sat in the pub garden. we were able to grab the best tables outside, with sunshades to keep Ian's head cool.  Rolling Eyes   The food was superbly cooked and I just remembered to get a photo of it after part demolishing my chicken and Ham pie:-

This was the End of Day photo on the Sunday, after the afternoon offroading session had finished:-

Laughing

These are from the campsite. The first from the Saturday night and the second from where Andyman, Fostlongstrider and I spent the Sunday night in Andy's awning, having a mega-noshup, tinnies and watching some Off-roading videos.

Cheers, even more gutted now Sad

Couldn't be helped though, and while I was working, and the van free, the other half took the van to fabricators and had the bed made I'd been trying to fit in for months now.
Still would rather have been out with you lot.
Will be out n about Whitby/Robin Hoods Bay Area over Easter if anyone's planning on heading that way.

Sorry you couldn't make it, BB. Dunno why, but I had you down as a definite, even if your wheels would have struggled on the narrower, rocky bits of the tracks!

Here's some of my shots - sorry I realise these may look familiar...

Hope to make it to the next meet! Anyone up for sommat in Scotland at some point? ;)

Andyman......  (My Delica isn't kitted out for it, but I wouldn't mind  riding shovel-man in a  serious off roader!)

Will try and arrange something....you could be the Gate-Bitch... there are many Lanes in the Lakes but as I said a lot too severe for a Deli in my opinion (some may think otherwise, depends if you want to damage your vehicle).
