1) Has it not ocurred to you, how I know Woodbury common/down With me living in Hertfordshire, about 200 miles away.
2) Agree
Another thought, how about a summer meet at Woodbury Common/Down.
I would imagine it's a good place for overnighting in Delica's
And down to Lympstone for a good meal in the Swan Inn.
Camper cooking for the DIYers, and at home,
I can highly recommend Ken the Butcher in Lympstone, now Londis shop, his sausages are brilliant.
3 times Iv taken Ken's sausages to Borehamwood - - - on me bikes Exclamation 3 different bikes, one at a time tho.
They was, 535 Virago, XJ600, NTV650.
So, there we have it, next years summer's meet. Who's up for it

Not sure what restrictions are in place for driving on to and over-nighting at Woodbury Common. I'll try and have a look at some point, but from memory the access roads are all gated.
The seafront at Exmouth has become popular for overnighting in motorhomes as you can buy a 24hr parking ticket, but you have to contend with the local "yoofs" testing their car's wheel spinning ability at night.

Must be some reasonably priced campsites in the area. _________________ Ian.

I'm going to have a look at some, but it won't be straight away as I am travelling a bit for work at the moment.
A lot of the local ones are static van or National trust, so maybe a bit formal. Deker spotted a potential, Berry Barton Campsite next to Branscombe. When I'm passing I'll try and drop in to find out how flexible they are in terms of Tents/Converted Vans, Campers etc.

Berry Barton looks a bit too static orientated. I prefer the look of the Airfield campsite, or Coombe Farm - both look a little more cosy, and level. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Hi Andy.
Could you be a bit more specific on the locations of the mentioned sites.
I found more than one Coombe Farm :?
Anyone interested in a Devon meet - I'm up for suggestions. I said Woodbury ('cos i know the place) - As a starting point.
Every time I think about that area, I recall the train trip (where one pays the conductor on the train) from Lympstone to Exmouth
The view from Lympstone, looking across the river Exe, to Powderham and Starcross on a sunny day is quite something to remember :D
Here is an evening shot from Lympstone Harbour, looking across the Exe, towards Kenton.

Both Coombe View and the Airfield are within a mile of each other, and Berry Barton. All 3 are close to Branscombe which is a delightful tiny village next to nothing but the open ocean.
The only reason it got famous a couple of years ago is when the container ship ran aground and people were looting BMW motorbikes and such.
It's a bit hard to judge from google earth whether one is better than the other, but I will go and have a chat with each of the sites as to whether they can accommodate a bunch of Delicas, it will just have to be in a month or so due to work at the moment.
It would be lovely to rock up on the Exe Estuary like Deker's photos, but we haven't got anywhere suitable for Deli's overnighting other than the Exmouth seafront, which isn't ideal. One potential is Beesands, further South. Just past Slapton Ley there is apparently free overnighting right on the the coast, but i have to go and check that one out.

Looked up the Branscombe Airfield site - Looks the "Bizzo" to me.
And they take Campervans Also looks casual
Coombe View Farm, from what I see =
Provisionally "depending on dates)(pun not intended) I may have a lady friend with me,
it would be nice for her to have other "fem" to converse with, unlike the Welsh meet this year.

If it's in June next year my partner would most likely come along as our holiday to Canada fell through due to the complete mess up SAGA made of the booking.
Carol has to have her leave cleared well in advance and has 16 days in June and we could attend the meet and also carry on down to Truro to see a mate from my Forces days who I haven't seen for over 20 years.
P.S. Welsh meet was good as it got me away from Fem company!!! _________________ Ian.

A) Falling about after a drop of Whisky does not really impress "La Fem"
How does June fit in with Andy School Holidays etc.
Plus - for you two guys, it's over 350 ish mile journey each way
But then, you guys are younger than me, 'an I go visit a friend in Scotland = over 450 miles each way.
All easy in a comfy Delica

It's not so much the distance, as the time spent getting there and back compared to the time 'on resort'! My daughter is getting married in the spring half term holiday, end of May, which rules that out for me. If I can do it at easter or summer hols, I've got time to do a grand tour and visit long lost relatives in Devon too. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

A) Keeping an eye on this and will try to come along to where/when ever it is.
but always up for a bit of camping and Devon isn't too far if I peddle hard.
Will bring "The Library" for Andyman :-) |
A) Where - It is up to members ( like you ) to come up with other suggestions for a nice site - Western side of Dorset, for example.
Anywhere in or close ish to the South/South West coast.
My Woodbury suggestion was just that = A starting point
& When - To say what dates suit them. I should (subject to post operation check-up's) be up for any summer dates,
WHEN the sun is going to shine all them days :D

If it's July (or possibly August) I might be able to make it (depending on other developing commitments ), June or before may be tricky for me because of work. |
