As promised in other pages of the forum.

The meet for Wales last year fizzled out  Sad
So - Here on the "East Coast"  Exclamation of Wales -
https://disserth.biz/

I have camped here a few times when biking. It is quite close to Herefordshire.
Nice quiet site (except for the river, if you don't like the sound of babbling brook, park a few yards away from it)
Builth & Llandrindod Wells are close by for shopping and food.

This is a good place to explore the Elan Valley (using the mountain road from Rhayadar) to Devils Bridge,
then onto Aberystwyth for eating (Baz   Question  Idea )

For the off roader's, Strata Florida is not far.

Not far from the site is the Llyn Brianne Resevoir, at the viewpoint, on a sunny day, a really tranquil place for an afternoons break.
To get there, use the Abergwesyn to Tregaron mountain road, which has a Red Telephone Box, effectively in the middle of the mountains  Exclamation
The road has a few picnic stopping places.

The last time I was there, I had a friend from Peru with me, showed her the phone box - It had been VANDALISED
ALL the glass was smashed  Evil or Very Mad
Both her and I were shocked  Shocked  Shocked  How could anybody do that   Question

The look on her face "says it all"  Crying or Very sad

Is Wales like Cumbria, ie, better weather in June (Whit week) than July / August? Last 2 years here, we've had lovely weather until the schools broke up in July.

Andy I didn't know you are a comedian  Razz
We live in the UK - Who knows what the weather is going to do tomorrow in any given place  Question

I've always been fortunate with nice weather in the Lakes, bikes and Delica.

Had mostly nice in Wales, when biking + Delica - - - and a couple of times, in Delica = wet Wales

I wish my field was more accessible, - I'd have a meet here!  Deli steering lock and narrow gateway would be a pain. And then the pony likes blue/green paintwork!

I thought it is easy to get into the field  :?  On the other hand it's very exposed  Sad

Pony "likes blue/green paintwork!" hmm, might be a problem.

Sometime around then, I'll be celebrating my big 60! Need to do some careful planning, eg move pony, widen gateway. Deker, in the winter it's exposed, in the summer, it's called a view!

J69 That sounds good to me. Looks like you may have set a date.
Anyone else up for that date  Question

Andy - Big 60 = 15 years behind me  Exclamation
"in the winter it's exposed," quite the opposite to the Disserth site.

"in the summer, it's called a view!" = All 2,000 feet of it  Smile

Looks good to me - first weekend after Cumbrian half term, but I don't do Mondays, and I'll be free Friday afternoon as Yr11s will be finished! Yey! :D. Let us know how we book, deposits etc, and how you ensure we get a communal patch for the numbers.

The site is open March to October (Licencing Regs. etc.) Most times only need to book for Bank Holidays.

At the mo. it looks like 4 folks interested. WHEN I get some definite numbers of us, I will call Mike.

During quiet  Exclamation  times normally there is no need to book or deposit required.
But probably best to do so, so that Mike can keep an area that we may be grouped together.

The site is quite flat, just a few really slight slopes.
As far as I know, there are no special facilities for children, many families would not use it.

Fishing on the River Ithon (which runs on one side of the site) If that is your thing, you may be able to get a permit. I dunno the rules for that.

I have used this site a few times (was more than ten years ago) any Qs. please PM me.

PLEASE NOTE : I would prefer no idle "chit chat" on this topic, in order to keep the number of pages low.
It gets a bit confusing having to go "back & forth" checking multiple pages for posts & replies.

Apologies Crying or Very sad we have some down here but not of any significant age.
Not impressed with it, maybe the 15 year old will be an improvement Smile
