Got a 1994 L300 last year. First owner of it in this country. It was a factory fitted campervan but I'm now in the process of remodelling to fit rock and roll bed. |

Still have mine but she is sorn at the moment - has been for a while as it needs a new head/engine. Due to work commitments and emigration I haven't had a chance to fix her. As soon as it's back up an running it going on a ferry to my new place. When I can find a garage i trust to do the work that is!

I went over to Canada. Still have commitents in the UK so pop backi regularly. Want to get the Deli fired up and sent over.
The 300 seems to get into your blood. With so few of them about these days I just can't bring myself to part with it.

Is Canada not still a sweet shop for lovers of the 300, or have they for the most part, succumbed to rust and overheating like over here? _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

There are a few on the west coast I believe but thats a long way from me! Truth be known I think mine only probably needed a new head (I say only!!). It could probably do with a little fettling also...brakes, exhaust etc etc (exhaust is new .....milner one that rattles on the back of the truck as it isn't quite the correct fit). I often see 4d56 recon engines advertised for the l200 for sale for the £900/£1000 mark. I was thinking of maybe trying to find someone to swop the whole thing.

My Milner exhaust was a perfect fit, but developed a rattle within a year. Turned out to be the front exhaust three bolt flange which had slowly cracked the weld onto the front pipe. I cleaned up the joint and re-welded it. Still holding up, and quiet! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

They have had the L300s in Canada for many years, so they have had far more time to convert to oxidised iron, than the more modern L400s. :D _________________

Oh yeah the salt on the roads here ....man. No wonder no one walks, if you did you would dehydrate and die like a slug with all the salt dust in the air.
Undercoating would seem a must. I expect my UK registered Disco that is currenty on the drive (couldn't leave the landrover behind either) will be just a pile of orange dust by this time next year!! |

I couldn't possibly say that L400s rusted worse than L300s, Ian! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Seems like L400s are rusting from the bottom upwards, L300s from the roof downwards. Good thing they don't MoT check your roof! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |
