Hi guys,

We've got an L300 4WD exceed, swb. I'm looking to make the curtains for it, when we bought her she already had the rails and hooks built in. I can't find for the life of me the measurements of the Windows and I can't tell my partner because they're going to be his 'going to Europe' present.

Help!

Hi, sorry for being thick, but can you not just measure the rails or do you not have access to the van?

Hi Ben,
Can't get access without it being obvious what I'm doing! It's his everyday transport too so often not at home when I am.

Can you wait 24 hours?
I had a set of thermal/blackout curtains made for me by a company in Bridlington.
I have just had a clearout and have thrown the measurements away, BUT can go out and measure up again.
By the way all L300's are SWB.

Further to last do you want just the rear curtains, and one to go over the front across the engine hump.
Or do you want curtains for the front drivers area as well?

Middle side window and door window 40" X 19"
Rear side windows 35" X 19"
Tail gate Top 44", Bottom 52", Depth 21"
Front over engine hump Top 50", Bottom 58", Depth 34"

These are actual window sizes, you have to allow for ruching  and hanging below window.
It depends on where your actual top rail and bottom rail are mounted.
The Tail gate and front are narrower at the top than the bottom which explains the extra measurement.

Mine cost £250, but if you are doing them yourself it will be a lot cheaper.

Hi, Ian beat me to it with curtain sizes, but if your curtain rails are the original channel- type, inset into the side trims, then the side rails are 56cms apart, top centre to bottom centre, and the tailgate rails are 61cms apart. The sliding door and the front curtains don 't have a bottom rail.  Original curtains have velcro pads at each end so they can seal to the next curtain for privacy, plus straps to tie them back. Without these, the curtains can impede drivers vision .

Forgot to mention the velcro pads to keep the curtains closed and each of my curtains have a strip of the same material as them with a velcro pad at each end that goes round the folded back curtain to keep it open when driving.
